Why do some animal lovers also like Humans?

Really? Animals arent as violent/cruel as humans? So If your parents got a divorce and you lived with your mom, and she got remarried...would your stepdad kill you and eat you and then have new kids with your mom that are part of his dna to wipe out your dads bloodline? Male lions do this
