What effects does a seperation have on a 3 year old daughter?

Is it better to continue a trial separation or get divorced while a child is 3 years old? We have constantly been at each others throats for our marriage but the last two years we cannot stand to be in the same room with each other. I was constantly getting awaken by my wife at the early hours of the morning to argue over some issue and she constantly makes me out to be the problem. Over the last six months we are yelling at each other in front of our daughter who imitates us during it and the last early morning wake up I received ended up getting shoved and hit before retreating back to the guest room. I want to move out but don't know what effect it will have on my daughter. It has gotten so bad that I travel as much as possible to get away from the environment of our household.
